Sophie Deshayes

Flute

Determined to explore different modes of expression, to reconcile repertoire and creation, Sophie Deshayes regularly collaborates with choreographers, directors, and stage directors. Through the projects she undertakes and also through teaching, it is important for her to involve the artist in the community.

She is a partner of the ensembles United Instruments of Lucilin and Sillages and regularly performs with the Trio Polycordes. Her concerts take her to France and abroad in numerous festivals. She records for labels such as MFA Radio-France, Zig-Zag Territoires, Naxos…

Michèle Tosi in Res Musica writes: « Sophie Deshayes’s elegant and refined flute takes on a feline course. »

Marie-Aude Roux in Le Monde: « The reward is at its peak with flutist Sophie Deshayes and Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. »

Since 2018, deeply involved in the collective adventure of Musiques en Tonnerrois, she oversees its artistic coordination.

Trained in France, after studies in music and art history, she furthered her skills with Robert Aitken in Germany in Freiburg in Breisgau and obtained a residency at the Banff Center for the Arts in Canada. As an artistic education professor at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional Jack Ralite in Aubervilliers-La Courneuve, as well as at Pôle Sup’93, she is involved in training teachers at CEFEDEM and CNSM.

For Éditions Billaudot, she develops « Écoute, je joue! », a method for the flute in three volumes, a collective work bringing together Music Training and original compositions. She is appointed as an expert at DRAC Ile de France for the period 2022-2025.
