Max Mausen
Clarinet
The Luxembourgish clarinettist Max Mausen, recognised as a ‘sensitive and imaginative’ artist, worked as a freelance musician in London, performing regularly with internationally renowned orchestras, including the Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. He kept a close link to his native country where he often joined the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, the Orchestre de Chambre de Luxembourg and United Instruments of Lucilin. He was also principal clarinettist of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra during the 2014-15 season.
Since his return to Luxembourg in 2020, Max has become a regular member of Lucilin and enjoys discovering and creating new music. Tours and festivals have taken him to the UK, Italy, Spain, Germany, France, Sweden, Poland, Japan and China. Most notably, he performed at festivals including the BBC Proms, Festival Lyrique de Belle-Ile-en-Mer, Rainy Days (L) and ManiFeste.
Beyond performing, Max is also a music educator, he teaches clarinet at the Luxembourg City Conservatoire, and he is a member of the organisational team of the Orchestre des Jeunes du Luxembourg.
Max started his musical studies at the Luxembourg City Conservatoire and went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
