United Instruments of Lucilin au Festival Musica avec « Les murs meurent aussi »

The ensemble United Instruments of Lucilin performed to a sold-out audience at the Musica Festival on September 21 and 22 with the premiere of Les murs meurent aussi, a creation by François Sarhan that explores the impact of walls and borders in the context of contemporary conflicts. Upcoming dates: Stuttgart, Zagreb, Luxembourg.

United Instruments of Lucilin made a mark at the Musica Festival 2024 with the world premiere of Les murs meurent aussi on September 21 and 22 in Strasbourg. Composed by François Sarhan, this musical theater work addresses the impact of walls and borders, drawing inspiration from current conflicts, notably in Ukraine and Palestine. Through testimonials and video reconstructions, the piece explores themes such as war, resistance, and the exercise of power.

On stage, the musicians of Lucilin Winnie Cheng, Danielle Hennicot, Srdjan Berdović, Pascal Meyer, and Guy Frisch—are joined by performers Daniel Agi, Marie Buzhor, and Julia Lwowski, as well as actress Janina Ahh, who appears in the projected videos. Together, they bring to life narratives where music, testimonies, and images intersect to illustrate significant and contemporary events.

After this success at the Musica Festival, Les murs meurent aussi will be presented again:

  • At the ECLAT Festival in Stuttgart on February 8, 2025,
  • At the Zagreb Music Biennale on April 11, 2025,
  • At the Grand Théâtre of Luxembourg on April 26, 2025.
