Festival rainy days – Academy
Mentored during the Academy by James Dillon and Milica Djordjević, eight emerging composers present new works.
Luxembourg Composition Academy, Closing Concert
The Luxembourg Composition Academy is a one-of-a-kind event in Luxembourg, offering eight young composers the opportunity to create a new piece, guided by the musicians of the ensemble United Instruments of Lucilin and renowned composers. The academy’s program includes lectures, individual tutoring sessions with two guest composers, as well as workshops. Each participant is invited to write a piece for United Instruments of Lucilin. These compositions will be developed during the academy and premiered at the academy’s closing concert, which is part of the Rainy Days festival. Participants will also have the chance to attend all the festival’s concerts.
As part of the Rainy Days festival and in collaboration with Philharmonie Luxembourg, the closing concert will feature the eight new works by the composers selected to participate in the 2024 Academy:
