Alexander Schubert, Black Mirror
rainy days festival: "Into the Wild"
Outdoor concert installation
Cross-genre composer Alexander Schubert (1979, Bremen) interpreted rainy days Festival’s 2016 thematic “into the wild” literally: in his new concert-installation Black Mirror, the Philharmonie is the starting point of a bus trip beyond Luxembourg-city, leading to a nightly adventure in an abandoned hotel, a building that has been neglected for years.
Audience and performers become actors in this bizarre environment, where the border between fiction and reality is blurred. Not for the fainthearted*, this expedition requires hiking shoes, warm clothes and courage – but isn’t that what weekend excursions are all about?
*use of stroboscopic lights!
